Junior Clinics
Team Level 1 (Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-6:00pm)
These players have been taking tennis clinics consistently for less than 2 years. Basic techniques of ground strokes, volleys/overheads and serves are learned. Players are learning to rally. Students will learn the basic rules of tennis and proper court etiquette. Fun games related to tennis will be played as well as players beginning to play games of tennis. This class uses the Quickstart format which is a scaled down version of tennis, designed to develop players faster. QuickStartTennis.com.
Team Level 2 (Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45-5:00pm)
This class is for advancing players with instructor permission and mastery of Level 1 skills; generally players have been taking Junior Clinics for over two years. Level 2 players are beginning to play sets. They hit with directional control, rally and put serve into play consistently. The player uses topspin on their groundstrokes and spin on their serve. This class uses both Quickstart and traditional tennis formats.
Team Level 3 (Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-4:45pm)
Player generally has been taking four years of tennis clinics. They have mastered the skills of Level 2, are developing a complete game and can use all basic shots with a mechanically sound swing. They are beginning to play competitive tennis. Starting to practice regularly away from tennis clinics. They are developing singles and doubles strategy and tactics involving positioning, movement, shot selection, etc.
Team Level 4 “Challenger I” (Mondays and Wednesdays 4:45-6:15)
Player hits with control, power and can vary spin. They play at least four challenger level tournaments a year and/or junior varsity high school tennis and does at least 2 days “offcourt” fitness training to supplement their tennis skills. Beginning to develop weapons around which a game style can be formed.
Requirements: Must play a minimum four tournaments in the Challenger division of USTA.
Team Level 5 “Challenger II” (Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-7:30)
This class is for top challenger level players who are beginning to play champs division. They are dedicated advance juniors seeking to move to the next level of competition.
Requirements: Must maintain a year-end ranking in the Challenger division of the USTA.
Team Level 6 “Champs” (TBA)
This class is for the most serious, dedicated advanced juniors seeking high performance training standards and who are willing to train 6 days a week throughout most of the year. Emphasis on perfecting all basic and specialty shots along with advanced singles and doubles tactics and strategies.
Requirements: Must maintain a year-end ranking in the Champs division of the USTA.
